The Land O’ Lakes Rescue Petting Farm Story

Land O’ Lakes Rescue Petting Farm originated because there was a need to help injured, sick and abandoned farm animals and offer a therapeutic setting for children and adults who have suffered from trauma and have special needs.

As foster parents, we have seen first hand how children and adults have overcome their trauma by working with these animals. The love and compassion that these animals receive from visitors who provide treats and hugs have helped make these animals gentle and learn to trust again. Each animal that arrives at our farm must be vet checked and provided the necessary on-going prescribed treatment plan.

We try to be self-sufficient at the rescue farm and receive no government funding or agency support. We are a not-for-profit organization and all our staff and community help are all volunteers. Funds for the farm and the animals care is all raised by tour admissions, fundraisers and of course donations.

We have launched our Sponsor an Animal and Sponsor An Animal As A Gift fundraising programs which will allow donors to sponsor a rescue animal of their choosing such as a llama, sheep, pig, goat, cow, horse, cat, dog or even one of our barn fowl such as a peacock or turkey! Check out the Sponsor An Animal page or the Sponsor An Animal As A Gift page for more info!

We are so very thankful for our tireless volunteers who help with the animals as well as with ongoing fundraisers such as bottle drives, online yard sales and silent auctions.
